Bio
My name is Connie Smith. I am working with second grade students. I help special education students in co-taught classes.
I began my teaching career teaching second graders at Adel Elementary. Later, I became the first learning disabilities teacher in Cook County. I left the general education classroom and entered the special education area of teaching. I have served special education students in grades first through fifth. I have also served as the testing coordinator for special education due process at Adel Elementary and Cook Elementary Schools.
During the school term 2003-2004 my peers at Cook Elementary School selected me as their teacher of the year. I was later awarded teacher of the year for the Cook County School System. These honors have been the highlight of my teaching career.
I will be sending home progress reports with your child's report card. I am looking forward to working with your child. My goal is for your child to be successful.
